About me

I am a motivated, business-oriented Cambridge graduate studying for a PhD at the University of Oxford. I am currently in the first year of a prestigious four-year Synthetic Biology Doctoral Training Programme jointly funded by the BBSRC and EPSRC.

I plan to pursue a career in the synthetic biology startup sector and have an excellent background in life sciences and business, complimented by broad experience in cutting-edge research in the UK and USA.

I hold a BA in Biological Natural Sciences and an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise (MBE), both from the University of Cambridge. The MBE is a one-year multidisciplinary biotechnology and business degree. After graduating, I worked as an R&D intern at Gen9 Bio, a Boston-based next-generation DNA synthesis startup co-founded by George Church in 2009.

I am an editor and contributor at synbio.info, a growing one-stop resource for synthetic biology experts and newcomers alike. Have a look to learn more about synbio - join the discussion!

I'm a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and BSAC Open Water Instructor. In 2014, I was Chairman of CUUEG, the Cambridge University Underwater Exploration Group and, since 2017, I have been a committee member of OUUEG.
